Terms & Conditions
Important: This website is an enquiry and information site. Sending a form, WhatsApp message, text or email does not by itself create a contract or confirm a booking.
1. Business and contact details
The trading name used on this website is Halls Gas. Enquiries are handled by Liam Hall. Contact: liam@hallsgas.co.uk · 07784 409696 · hallsgas.co.uk.
Geographic business address: this has not been supplied for publication on the website. For any distance or off-premises consumer booking, the required geographic business address and other pre-contract information must be given to the customer before the customer becomes bound by the contract.
2. What the website does
The website describes services and provides ways to make an enquiry. It does not take online payment and it does not automatically accept a booking. A contract is only formed when the scope of work and the applicable price or pricing basis have been agreed and Halls Gas has clearly accepted the booking.
3. Quotes, estimates and additional work
Any quotation or estimate is based on the information available at the time. Where site conditions, appliance details, access, defects or other matters mean additional work may be required, that additional work should be explained and agreed before it is carried out, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary to make a dangerous situation safe.
4. Prices and payment
The price, how it is calculated, any taxes that apply, the payment method and when payment is due will be stated in the quotation or booking information. If an exact price cannot reasonably be calculated in advance, the customer will be told the basis on which the price will be calculated.
5. Access, information and site conditions
The customer should provide accurate information about the property, appliance and known issues, and provide reasonable access to the relevant areas. Halls Gas may decline, stop or reschedule work where it would be unsafe, outside the engineer's registered/competent scope, contrary to law or manufacturer requirements, or where suitable access is not available.
6. Customer-supplied appliances or materials
Where the customer supplies an appliance or material, acceptance of a booking does not guarantee that it can lawfully or safely be installed. Suitability can depend on the appliance, location, clearances, ventilation, flue arrangements, services and manufacturer instructions. If installation cannot proceed safely or lawfully, the reason will be explained.
7. Consumer cancellation rights for distance and off-premises contracts
Where the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 apply, a consumer generally has a 14-day cancellation period for a distance or off-premises service contract. There are exceptions, including certain urgent repair or maintenance visits specifically requested by the consumer.
If you ask for a service to begin during the 14-day cancellation period, Halls Gas must obtain the required express request before starting. If you then cancel after work has begun at your request, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to cancellation. Where the service is fully performed during the cancellation period, the right to cancel can end only where the legal requirements for the early start and acknowledgement have been met.
For bookings made by phone, WhatsApp, text or email, Halls Gas should provide the required pre-contract information and any applicable cancellation information in a form you can keep, such as an email, message or document, before you are bound.
8. Cancellation form
If you have a statutory right to cancel, you may use the following wording (you do not have to use this exact form):
To: Halls Gas — liam@hallsgas.co.uk
I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following service:
Service: ______________________________
Customer name: ________________________
Customer address: ______________________
Contract / booking date: ________________
Date of cancellation: ___________________
Signature (only if sent on paper): __________
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms removes or restricts rights that cannot legally be excluded. Consumer services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Where no price or time has been agreed, consumer law can imply a reasonable price and a reasonable time.
10. Gas work and safety
Gas work must only be carried out by a person/business that is legally entitled and appropriately registered/competent for the category of work concerned. The website should not display a Gas Safe registration number or Gas Safe branding unless the current registration and permitted use have been verified.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with a service, contact Halls Gas promptly using liam@hallsgas.co.uk or 07784 409696 so the issue can be reviewed. These terms do not prevent you from using any statutory remedy available to you.
12. Changes to these terms
These website terms may be updated when the business, law or services change. The terms that apply to a booking are the terms and pre-contract information supplied for that booking.
